WOW!!! How Long has it been?

I would so be fired if I got paid for doing this! LOL!! I never was good at writing in a journal or a diary. Who has time....right?
Life around here has been super busy. We have taken on some commercial work, re-doing our home, and just life in general. NEVER......I repeat....NEVER....gut 2 bathrooms and a kitchen ALL at the same time! I learned my lesson quickly over the summer...talk about a nightmare! OMG! But now it is all almost put back together and finished. Just have a few little tweaks and it will be time to enjoy it. By the holidays it should be totally AWESOME!

We had a beautiful day today. Lots of time with family. Nothing like it. Up early and church with the entire family. Beautiful service and the music was outstanding. Came home to dinner at our house and enjoyed food and fellowship. Lots of egg hunting, children laughing, chocolate bunnies and peeps! I hope that each one of you had a blessed Easter and remember the true meaning of today. :)

We got our shipment of Matilda Jane's newest line Hammond Bay. We were headed to the Gardens in the 'Ham for a photo shoot so I thought what better time to shoot some of our new duds! OMG! I am loving this little top and our Eden Bouquet ruffled jean capris. Hmm..hmmm....hmmm.

and one more of the little Princess....I could just pinch those cheeks.

OK...I am off to place a pretty big order. I have decided to do some prints of the kids in different sizes for a shelf on one of my walls. I will post a pic of it when I finish. I think it will look great.

Can't wait until morning. Supposed to be in the 60's!!!! From snow to a heat wave in less than 7 days...that is weather as we know it in the South. UGH!
Headed to the 'Ham early in the morning....got to get to the gardens before ALL the photogs are there!
Lots of stuff to shoot. Pettis, a little ditty for Ms Kristine, and some for oh!bananas...Should be a FUN day!

When we are finished...going shopping for some new props. Hopefully Marshalls will have what I'm looking for. :)
Oh...almost forgot the MOST important thing...our HUGE MJ order comes tomorrow!! I swear it's like Christmas all over!!!!!!

OMG! Snow again today in Alabama!!! We are soooo ready for Spring. Here are a few sneaks from our shoot last weekend. To me they still look a little cold (it was freezing!) Going to the 'Ham Saturday to shoot at the Gardens. Hope to get these to the designer so she can get this line up and going. :) This has been fun!

Bless her heart the wind was sooo cold....her little arms and legs were purple. Hard to look summery in cold, windy weather! :)

I know, I know....I am not doing too good in 2010. My blogging is lacking. I promise to do better. We have been busy. Photography, my "real" job, home, everybody sick, snow, cold, you know all the "normal" things that happen in the winter. But here are a few shots from some recent sessions we did. Love working with these designers. They are the greatest!
The first sets are by Gina of oh!bananas. She makes the most F*U*N sets!

Our next fun shoot was for http://www.missthingsboutique/. Angie is a doll and we LOVE working with her. What little girl doesn't love modeling and playing in petti skirts! :)

Yep...we have had our FULL share of rain lately. Got lots of work outside to do. Designers are starting to send their goodies to be shot and Mother Nature is NOT cooperating. Crossing my fingers that tomorrow will be bright, sunny and warm enough to play like we are shooting in the summer! LOL!!

Oh I'm really slacking in the blogging department. I know, I know....no excuses. I took some time off and totally put my camera down and turned my computer off during the holidays. I was exhausted and wanted to spend as much quality time with the family as I possibly could.
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and that your new year is off on a good note.
My family had a great Christmas. Santa was good to ALL of us! :)
Ok...my new resolution is to do better about posting on my blog. So help me out there.

Aren't twins adorable? I have always wanted a set of twins. I'm sure this family had a very exciting Christmas!! Just wait until they are 16...oh boy!

Nothing sweeter than a proud daddy and his little boy. Nope nothing.

This is one of my favorite fields to take pictures. Rode by there yesterday to see if it was ready to start shooting there again. It was a little damp with all the rain we've had lately but it shouldn't be long and the grass will be green and all the new spring sets will be coming in to model. :) That makes me smile!

Seems like everytime I think I am getting caught up on one thing something else is lacking. It's a rat race I'm telling ya! LOL!!
Sessions have been jam packed! YEA!!! Haven't done any Christmas shopping! Bah Humbug! And to top it all off I go and hurt my back at work. Ya .... it really stinks! I have a whole new respect for people who suffer with back problems. This has been a very painful and trying experience. Happy to find out it was not a disc and only muscular...thank goodness because that will heal!

So how many of you are as behind on Christmas shopping as I am??? Got my Zhu-Zhu pets and boy am I glad I followed my instinct! LOL!! I bought it ALL back in September and now you can't find the darn little rats. Miss Carson will be very pleased come Christmas morning that good 'ol Saint Nick found her name on his "nice" list! :) I also bought her Christmas present from me and that is it! I tell ya....I gotta get with the program.

Ok...gonna share a couple with you that I have worked on recently. You know I can't go without sharing a pic or two. So here goes....

You know frankly I don't ever remember looking like this when I was 14! You'll see in just a minute what I'm talking about. Today I ran home from work, grabbed my tools and met a friend and her daughter for a quick (and I mean QUICK!) shoot. We got about 35 minutes and that was it! But I think it was enough....hopefully she will find just what she was looking for in the few shots we got today. This wasn't a normal shoot...no she is entering a modeling contest and just needed one full body shot and one head shot. Let me know what you think mom....

Her first custom photographs. She couldn't decide if she wanted to stay awake or sleep. I think there was too much going on around her and she might be a tad bit nosey?? LOL!! Ok...so I gotta brag a little...the number one grandson made Soccer All Stars in his age group. So today I had to be at the soccer field at....are you ready??? 7:30! Of course the little fellows had the very first game and they WON!!! Oh yeah! They are so cute....not sure why my little guy was number 8...he has been number 9 for two years straight and they asked him what number he wanted on his All Star jersey and he said 8! Go figure! His mom and I couldn't make any sense out of it! Crazy Eights??? Magic Eight ball??? It got me thinking about why he chose 8.
I just included some shots from both of their games today. They won their first game and advanced in the brackets but lost their second game. Oh well....we all had fun and hope we do it again next year! :)

and I had to add this shot....his bff...do boys have bff's??? Oh well...they are best buds.

Ok....enough bragging! :) Now off to work on the pics from the fantabulous photo shoot I had this afternoon with 3 adorable little girls....I know their mom is anxiously awaiting a little sneaky of them.

Ok..I am TOTALLY ready for the rain to go away!! I had to cancel 2 shoots for today and honestly do not know when I am going to make them up! I am booked solid. I will work them in somehow. :) I also have 5 shoots to do with Carson for different designers. Since I am a natural light photographer it makes it hard when the rain seems like it is here to stay. UGH!
There is a lot going on this weekend. Not my favorite time of the year but the littles love Halloween and the fun of dressing up and trick or treating. We will have a good time tonight and they always make me laugh.

True Love

Oh goodness! I have the privilege of having 2 of the most beautiful people (inside and out) in my life and they asked me to make their engagement pictures! WOW is all I can say. I absolutely can not wait to do this wedding because she is going to be the most beautiful bride I have ever seen!!!
They are both very dear to my heart....I hooked them up! Yah...ME! :) Pretty good matchmaker huh E and L??? You know I wouldn't do either of you wrong. I love you both.
Ok....on to yesterday....so we went to the farm where the outdoor wedding will take place NEXT October 23rd at 4 in the afternoon. Beautiful....I could envision everything about it. An old farm house, an old barn, lots of old trees with character, a tire swing, white fences, open pastures, a creek bank, even an old tractor!
I know it will be a wedding to remember....but in the meantime...here's a little sneak of the happy couple-to-be.

This old hymn is stuck in my head. I can hear my ex-MIL banging it out on the piano keys everytime she sat down at one. We laid her tired, sweet body to rest today after the congregation sang her favorite hymn.
If you have never heard this hymn, Google it....what a beautiful, meaningful song.

This has been a really long week. I have watched a family humble themselves before our Lord and grieve over a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Not to mention her friends....WOW...she was a Godly woman who earned respect everywhere she went and in every life she touched.

She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

OMG is all I can say. I had 2 of the cutest little fellows with me today. We traveled to the highest point in Alabama which is literally in our backyard and had a fabulous photo shoot. Little did we remember that today's high was only like 52 but on top of Mt. Cheaha it is about 10 degrees cooler!!!! Plus there was tons of wind and it RAINED on us! But it didn't stop us. OH NO!!!! These were 2 tough little troopers.

I know, I know....why not leave a good thing alone??? Well, I was bored and I had to play with a new layout. Now I hate my header!!! Any suggestions??? I've got to work on it but to tell you the truth, I haven't had any more lag time.

I CANNOT wait until this weekend!! I have some good looking boys I am taking (along with Mom) to the highest point in Alabama for some awesome background scenery. Weather is supposed to be wonderful so we are hoping for some great Christmas photos! :) Wish us luck and pray the rain stays far, far away!
I have another family I am photographing the next day and who knows???? If the scenery is right....we may go back for more on round 2! :) This would be the recent little birthday girl and her handsome big brother.

I am SO tired of the rain. Really puts a damper on my FUN!
I did have a little bit of fun this morning despite the downpours.
This baby girl is about to celebrate her very first birthday and we went inside this morning for some really fun cake smashing! She was not shy....dug right in and enjoyed every last bite!
Mom is probably still trying to pull her off the ceiling 'cause I know she had one heck of a sugar high! LOL!!

The Princess and the Big Brother

Finally the rain held off long enough to go out and shoot a scheduled session. The grass was soggy but we managed to fill up a couple of hours.
Oh Goodness!!! I had a load of fun chasing this 2 year old to try and sweet talk him into letting me make his picture. He wasn't having any part of it. I made the mistake of telling him about my vintage trike I brought for him to ride. Nothing doing but to get it out first and let him on it. He has the cutest smile and is ALL boy!
And then there is little sis....holy smokes...she is adorable! You'll see...She has the most beautiful eyes I think I have photographed so far. WOWZA! She was definitely a little Princess...she sat there and did whatever we wanted her to do...of course she is only 7 months old! LOL!!
So here ya go mom and dad...my little sneaky of your two beautiful babies. Thanks for my afternoon treat! There's lots more where these came from. :)

Rainy Days and Mondays.....

Wow! Are you as tired of all the rain as I am??? I can't get out and shoot any pics whatsoever! Ugh!
I am going to get backed up and I hate that. I love a schedule. :)
I have several sets from designers for Carson to model and even a brother/sister set....even though the brother part is only a matching tie. It is gorgeous! Just wait Linda until you see what I put with it! :)
I also have a new line from MTB to shoot. I just found another model. Now I have 3 girls representing 3 different age groups. If the rain will stop...we can shoot! It is going to be exciting!

I am looking for a new lens ( Glass as we photogs call it! LOL!!). Talked to another photog friend today and she highly recommended the Canon (I am a Canon girl!) 24-70 2.8L. After much research on it...looks like it might be just the one I need!

I have a HUGE family wedding coming up and I need to be prepared for it. Also, I need to practice with it so I know how it works. Speaking of weddings...I am taking that beautiful couple out before long to do engagement pics. I so can't wait! Gorgeous people make photography life so much easier, don't you agree?

How many of you are Matilda Jane fans??? I know I am. I guess you could say I am somewhat of an addict! Especially after I counted all the pieces in Carson's closet! LOL!!

THE party was last night and OH MY GOODNESS was it ever a success! All of Brady's little friends came and they were soooooo cute! They ALL dressed like "Rock Stars". There were drums, guitars, a keyboard and several microphones. Non-ending music and even a little karaoke! teehee!
There was birthday cake...and might I add that cake ROCKED! Brady had his own personal layer that was designed after his red/white Fender Strat and the guests enjoyed a separate cake.
Presents...OMG...this little guy racked up. He has some really cool friends! Thank you guys for making Brady's birthday a birthday to remember.

Well today is a BIG day at our house! My number one grandson, Mr. Brady, is seven years old!
I can't believe he is growing up so fast. WOW! Seems like just yesterday when we were at the hospital anxiously awaiting his arrival. So today Brady....this is YOUR day and I hope it is the most magical, happy day this year! But remember....Friday we are going to party like a rock star!!!!

Oh my...the last day of the month! WOW...where did September go? Seems like school just started yesterday for most of us.
Fall is finally here....falling leaves, apples, pumpkins, crisp air, yummy smells, and I believe I saw a color or two on the trees! Perfect weather for pictures .... and speaking of pictures....I had so much fun snapping away this afternoon the most adorable little scarecrow! OMG! You tell me....is he not the cutest thing????

I told you he was adorable! Can't wait to see what Mom and Dad think about this little sneaky peek! ;)

WOW....today is beautiful here! Makes you just want to get out, let the top down and ride, ride, ride! :)
We have had so much rain this sunshine and cooler weather is a welcomed relief.
I am excited and sad all in one. I had to give my lab up. Yep...Mr. Baylor has a new home...but it's a good home and he's happy. My friend who took him said that her youngest daughter slept with her arm around him all night and he also slept in the bed with the Mom! Yah....he probably thinks he has died and gone to Heaven! She has about an acre of yard fenced in for him to run and play....he loves it! Now, Brady is not so happy about all of it....talk about a guilt trip! He told his mom that Baylor was his best friend and I just up and gave him away! Imagine that with HUGENORMOUS crocodile tears rolling out of those big brown eyes. He is such a tender heart! A heart the size of Texas!! That's my Brady! Gotta get that boy a new best friend! ;)

On a different note....my favorite little baby boy is coming over tomorrow and we are going out to shoot some adorable Halloween pics....yep...Halloween pics!!! ACK!!! I can't wait! Cute ideas for this little fellow and oh....mom is bringing his costume! Can you imagine a 7 month old in a Halloween costume?? Can you say C*U*T*E??? He is adorable anyway and I'm sure whatever costume he has....he will be precious in it.

Thank goodness the rain is gone! Hello Sunshine! I think I will go out today and just bask in the beautiful sunny weather.I think everyone around here has been couped up in the house for so long that we ALL need to get out and ramble.

He is adorable and growing up so fast! 6 months already. Baby J you are the sunshine!
